This project includes two major roadway corridors in Dakota County. First, our team completed the design of a new 179th Street corridor from Hayes Avenue to CSAH 23 (Cedar Avenue). This is a four-lane divided highway that will serve as the new CSAH 9 for Dakota County. Access modifications and intersection improvements will be included at the CSAH 23 and Dodd Boulevard intersections and CSAH 23 and 179th Street.

Project Overview
Beyond Design
Our team completed a full reconstruction of Dodd Boulevard from Glasgow Avenue to Pilot Knob Road (approximately 2 miles long). A significant challenge of this project involved the urbanization of the CSAH 9 (Dodd Boulevard) corridor. Previously, this was a narrow, 2-lane roadway with steep in-slopes and flat ditches. The new corridor includes improvements such as shoulders, trails, and curbs while minimizing property, drainage, and environmental impacts. This was challenging due to the proximity of houses, yards, and vegetative screening to the current road corridor.
