Traffic Engineer Group Manager

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineering Manager to join our team in the Burnsville, MN office. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of transportation projects for State, Local Government, and private clients. The primary focus will be on delivering high-quality solutions within the transportation sector.

  • Traffic Analysis and Modeling: Conduct comprehensive traffic studies and utilize modeling techniques to evaluate current and projected traffic conditions
  • Traffic plan design: Develop and implement effective traffic designs to enhance roadway safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Communication and collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and expectations are exceeded
  • Public Outreach: Engage with the community and other stakeholders to communicate project details and gather feedback.
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

What we’re looking for in you.

  • Demonstrated strong technical, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Motivation to contribute to company growth and development.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis and design software
  • Skilled in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering or related fields
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Minnesota
  • Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)

    Stuff we’re stopping short of assuming.

    If you’ve gotten this far, we know these are things you have, and you probably have them in spades. But just in case:

    • Knowledge of CADD software, preferably MicroStation
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
    • Experience supervising staff
