Senior Bridge Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the firm in our Burnsville, MN office. This role involves working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects for State, Local Government, and private clients, with a focus primarily on transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing bridges and conducting hydraulic analyses for various projects
  • Preparing comprehensive plans, detailed drawings, and specifications for the construction or repair of bridges
  • Undertaking feasibility studies to assess potential bridge projects and solutions
  • Performing load ratings and other essential structural calculations to ensure safety and reliability
  • Carrying out construction and safety inspections to maintain high standards for both new and existing structures
  • Conducting thorough site evaluations to support project planning and execution
  • Facilitating effective communication and collaboration within project teams and with stakeholders

What we’re looking for in you.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong work ethic and innovative approach, balancing hard work with enthusiasm
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth within the company
  • Willingness to collaborate effectively in both office and field environments as part of a team
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and bridge design software applications
  • Experience in designing highway bridges using AASHTO LRFD specifications and MnDOT standards
  • Certification as an Inspection Team Leader, highlighting expertise in bridge safety evaluations
  • More than five years of progressive experience in bridge-related engineering roles
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Minnesota

    Stuff we’re stopping short of assuming.

    If you’ve gotten this far, we know these are things you have, and you probably have them in spades. But just in case:

    • Knowledge of CADD software, preferably MicroStation
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
    • Experience supervising staff
