We were selected by the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board to provide planning, design, and implementation oversight services for the reconstruction of Parade Parkway between Dunwoody Boulevard and Kenwood Parkway in Minneapolis. As part of this Complete Streets project, we were asked to review several feasible improvements to area parking lots and lighting around the Parade Athletic Fields and Parade Ice Garden. Planning and design services consisted of evaluating existing conditions, studying parking needs, examining existing and concept roadway alignments, and identifying options for sustainable storm water management alternatives.

Project Overview
Beyond Design
We provided coordination efforts with not only the City of Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Public Works, but also with other entities that utilize the grounds. This included the Blake School, Walker Art Center, Dunwoody College, and private contract users of the parking lots. Detailed cost estimates were prepared to compare industry surfacing and lighting standards versus green alternative options. A detailed parking lot use analysis revealed capacity requirements for daily and event use, revenue collection sources, and overall operation flow for in place locations and concept conjoined locations. We also provided construction inspection/contract administration, and material testing services for the construction of this project.
