We provided preliminary design, concept development and historical coordination efforts for the Hennepin County Roads Improvements. This project involved full street and storm sewer reconstruction of CSAH 204 through the Upper Post. Design efforts were coordinated between the DNR, MnHPO, NPS, MPRB, MnDOT and Hennepin County, along with numerous other stakeholders at Historic Fort Snelling.

Project Overview
Beyond Design
Due to Fort Snelling’s designation as a National Historic Landmark, all proposed improvements must be approved by the MnHPO and NPS. In additional to the Hennepin County Road Improvements, our team worked with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board on involves trail extensions, trail widening/reconstruction, and a wayfinding signage plan to assist in routing trail users from the Fort Snelling LRT station to various destinations in the Historic Fort Snelling Site.
Community Responsibility
We were especially diligent to execute our plans, carefully considering all feedback and ideas, out of reverence for the National Historic Landmark and its community members.
