Stonebrooke was selected by MnDOT Metro to prepare final plans, special provisions, and associated tasks for a pavement maintenance project on TH 77. This project includes concrete pavement rehabilitation, bituminous mill and overlay, drainage structure repair, guardrail replacement, striping, and other enhancements. Two types of pavement repairs were defined: Minor and Medium Concrete Pavement Repair (Minor CPR and Medium CPR) from approximately 250′ north of 138th Street in Apple Valley to approximately 0.4 miles south of TH 13, and 3.5″ and mill and overlay from 0.4 miles south of TH 13 to the south end of the Minnesota River Bridge in Eagan.
Our traffic control plans allowed this high volume roadway (Average Daily Traffic of 69,000) to be constructed under traffic while minimizing disruption to traffic flow. This was accomplished with temporary widening with lane shifts and lane closures. This was a fast track project, and we completed the design work in 71 days. This project was awarded to our team in January 2012 and was successfully completed on time and approved for the planned letting date of 5/18/2012.
