TH 610 / Zachary Lane Interchange

Stonebrooke Engineering was selected to provide preliminary design services for the proposed interchange of TH 610 and Zachary Lane in Maple Grove. This multijurisdictional project included technical advisory committee members from MnDOT, Maple Grove, and Hennepin County. The layout development process included a comparison of traffic operations between traffic signals and multi lane roundabouts at the TH 610/Zachary Lane ramp intersections and an evaluation of 4 leg and 5 leg multi lane roundabout options. Traffic services included traffic modeling, traffic impact studies, signal justification reports, intersection control evaluation, intersection geometrics and layout, capacity analysis, and cost estimates. A permanent signing plan, pavement marking plan, drainage plan, lighting plan, landscaping plan, and pedestrian / bicycle accommodation designs were also included. Extensive coordination was required between the project stakeholders to ensure that local agency concerns were addressed in the design while MnDOT and County design parameters were met.
