This 6 mile road realignment / reconstruction project for MnDOT District 7 was located south of Worthington, Minnesota. The existing 2-lane rural section was redesigned into a 4-lane divided rural section. Our design services included final plans for roadway geometrics, profiles, bituminous surfacing, concrete pavement design, and drainage design. Roadway improvements included new pavement, drainage facilities and walkways. The work was part of a three-phase effort to expand the highway from two lanes to four between Bigelow and Worthington and to support a long-term plan to expedite travel between the Twin Cities and Denver.

TH 60 Phase 2 connects to Phase 1 and continues 2.5 miles north into Worthington, Minnesota. The proposed 4-lane divided rural section transitions to a 4-lane divided urban section as the roadway enters the City of Worthington. This project included the design of a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of TH 60 and CSAH 35. Our design services for the Level 1 Layout included preliminary design for roadway geometrics, profiles, drainage design and construction limits. The work was part of a three-phase effort to expand the highway from two lanes to four between Bigelow and Worthington and to support a long-term plan to expedite travel between the Twin Cities and Denver.
