Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in our Burnsville, MN office.  The successful candidate will perform or be responsible for traffic engineering design and study tasks and will serve in a lead position, supervising two Engineers in Training. This person will be supported and mentored by a senior professional traffic engineer.  The successful candidate will also help provide leadership for the growth of the traffic engineering section.

 

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is seeking a qualified Traffic Engineering candidate with 4-10 years of experience to work on municipal, transportation, and planning projects.  The candidate should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering and be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota, or have the ability to become licensed within 12 months. Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is preferred, but not required.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and mentor two EITs
  • Perform and/or supervise design activities for traffic signals, lighting systems, signing, striping, and temporary traffic control/maintenance of traffic
  • Perform and/or supervise the develop of alternatives analysis and traffic impact, corridor, safety and other studies
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, statements of qualifications, and letters of interest
  • Provide input to senior leadership on growth opportunities related to services, staffing, emerging markets, and core clients
  • Be familiar with traffic signal, roundabout, and other intersection operational and safety characteristics
  • Be familiar with traffic operations and safety evaluation reports
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to providing top of the line customer service

 

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a combination of some or all of the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of CADD software, including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with traffic modeling software such as Synchro/Sim Traffic
  • Working knowledge of the MnMUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, MnDOT Traffic Engineering Manual, and other engineering standards
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff, or as a substitute, the desire to lead a group and the necessary personality traits and technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness and desire to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in both an office and field setting

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our team in our Burnsville, MN office.

 

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is seeking a qualified Civil Engineering candidate with 6+ years of experience working on, leading, and/or acting as project manager on municipal and transportation projects, with an emphasis in several or all of the following:

 

  • Preliminary and Final Design plans for major roadway projects
  • Corridor studies, alternative analysis, and feasibility studies
  • Signing, striping, lighting, and temporary traffic control design
  • Permitting and environmental documentation
  • Construction staging and maintenance of traffic
  • Construction administration
  • Roundabout experience a plus
  • Candidates should currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Minnesota or have the ability to obtain a Minnesota license in the next six months.

 

This position will involve leading and assisting on various civil engineering projects in both a design and management role, following design standards and agency technical requirements, communicating with clients, presenting at project related meetings and conferences, and performing a variety of other assignments related to municipal, transportation, and planning projects. The person in this position will also assist with developing responses to requests for proposals, letters of interest, requests for qualifications, etc.

  • Oversee/Mentor design staff.

  • Bridge load ratings

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ten years of bridge design experience
  • Experience designing highway bridges utilizing AASHTO LRFD Specifications and preferably experience with MnDOT practices
  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis programs such as LEAP Products, AASHTOWare BrR, MDX, etc.
  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience performing bridge load ratings
  • Bridge Inspection and evaluation experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to guide other team members on project tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of CADD software, MicroStation or AutoCAD (Preferred)
  • Minnesota professional engineering license (or able to obtain)
  • Bridge Construction and Inspection experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is looking to hire a Bridge Drafting Technician with 2-10 years of experience. This position involves performing structural drafting work and geometric layout on bridge projects, preparing plans , performing quantity calculations, following MnDOT design standards and agency technical requirements, and performing other assignments related to structural drafting on municipal and transportation projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software is required. Experience with construction observation a plus.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting bridge plans
  • Drafting road plans
  • Geometric layout
  • Quantity calculations
  • Other transportation structural drafting such as retaining walls, box culverts, etc.

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is seeking a qualified Civil Engineering candidate with 0-5 years of experience to work on municipal and transportation projects.  The candidate should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in the State of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain this certification within 12 months.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Transportation design, including performing design tasks following design standards and agency technical requirements
  • CADD drafting
  • Construction inspection
  • Performing a variety of other assignments related to municipal and transportation projects.

 

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a combination of some or all of the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of CADD software, including MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Willingness to work in both an office and field setting, in a team environment
