Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our team in our Burnsville, MN office.

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is seeking a qualified Civil Engineering candidate with 6+ years of experience working on, leading, and/or acting as project manager on municipal and transportation projects, with an emphasis in several or all of the following:

  • Preliminary and Final Design plans for major roadway projects
  • Corridor studies, alternative analysis, and feasibility studies
  • Signing, striping, lighting, and temporary traffic control design
  • Permitting and environmental documentation
  • Construction staging and maintenance of traffic
  • Construction administration
  • Roundabout experience a plus
  • Candidates should currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Minnesota or have the ability to obtain a Minnesota license in the next six months.

This position will involve leading and assisting on various civil engineering projects in both a design and management role, following design standards and agency technical requirements, communicating with clients, presenting at project related meetings and conferences, and performing a variety of other assignments related to municipal, transportation, and planning projects. The person in this position will also assist with developing responses to requests for proposals, letters of interest, requests for qualifications, etc.

That’s why we have created a new position on our professional staff: Proposal Leader. As the newest member of our growing team, you will play a vital role in the continued growth of Stonebrooke Engineering by managing all aspects of our project proposal process.

Responsibilities
The Proposal Leader will guide Stonebrooke Engineering’s project proposal process from start to finish. You will work closely with our team of engineers and project managers to evaluate requests for proposals and seek the necessary information to write/edit and produce compelling project proposals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all activities related to the preparation of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP).
  • Develop an understanding of the engineering services Stonebrooke provides to enhance the effectiveness of project proposals.
  • Establish close working relationships with the firm’s technical staff to understand and effectively communicate their expertise and abilities.
  • Monitor industry sources for RFPs.
  • Write non-technical proposal sections such as cover letters and executive summaries.
  • Edit and proofread technical proposal sections for grammar and clarity to ensure proposal requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to write and maintain resumes, project descriptions, and other marketing collateral needed in proposals.
  • Provide proposal printing and production support including proofreading, editing for grammar, spelling, formatting (using InDesign), comprehension, consistency, and assembling and delivering final documents.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations/leave-behind materials for interviews and client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism or a related field
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
  • Excellent organizational, file management, and time management skills to effectively meet and stay ahead of multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and separate work tasks, prioritizing them in relation to the overall proposal production activity and deadlines.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bridge Drafting Technician to join our team in our Burnsville, MN office.

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is looking to hire a Bridge Drafting Technician with 2-10 years of experience. This position involves performing structural drafting work and geometric layout on bridge projects, preparing plans , performing quantity calculations, following MnDOT design standards and agency technical requirements, and performing other assignments related to structural drafting on municipal and transportation projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software is required. Experience with construction observation a plus.

Responsibilities
Stonebrooke Engineering is seeking a qualified civil engineer with 0-6 years of experience working on municipal and transportation projects, with an emphasis and interest in traffic operations and modeling, safety analysis, multi-modal planning/implementation, signing and striping, signal and lighting design, and temporary traffic control plans. The candidate should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain the certification or licensure within 12 months. A Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certificate is a plus.

This position involves assisting on various traffic engineering projects, developing macro- and microsimulation models, creating traffic operations and safety plans and reports, developing signing and striping plans, temporary traffic control plans, signal and lighting plans, following design standards and agency technical requirements, communicating with clients, and performing a variety of other assignments related to traffic engineering on municipal and transportation projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of traffic operations analysis software (i.e. Synchro/SimTraffic, RODEL, VISSIM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with traffic operations and safety evaluation reports
  • Working knowledge of the MnMUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, MnDOT Traffic Engineering Manual, and other engineering standards
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Knowledge of travel demand modeling software such as Tranplan, TRIPS, TP+, and CUBE VOYAGER is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in some or all of the following: developing signing and striping plans, temporary traffic control and maintenance of traffic plans, and signal and lighting plans.
  • Knowledge of CADD software, including MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge and experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software desired

Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Land Survey Crew Chief to join our team in our Burnsville, MN office.

Responsibilities include boundary surveying and construction layouts. Applicants need to have passed or be capable of passing the NSPS Certified Survey Technician–Level III Construction exam. Minimum of four years surveying experience preferred. Road and bridge experience preferred, but not required. Experience with Trimble GPS and Robotics, Trimble Business Center, GEOPAK, and AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus. Overtime may be required during heavy construction season.
